Damon has a Msc. of mechanical engineering from Carleton University where he focused on quantifying flare methane emissions and efficiencies of flares subject to a turbulent crosswind. He completed an undergraduate degree in Environmental Engineering from Western University. His area of expertise is methane emissions from the oil and gas sector. Damon comes also with some previous field experience in the upstream oil and gas industry in Western Canada quantifying greenhouse gas emissions. Damon joined Carbon Limits as a consultant in 2022.

As a flare expert, whatever the wind and other conditions, Damon is up for anything with an off the chart recorded efficiency: in his first months in Norway Damon had already tried ski mountaineering, mountain biking and had caught fish bigger than him. He can share his (flare) tips. Fueled with maple syrup, there is no problem too big for him that cannot be solved with a good brainstorm and a flowchart.
