CCUS KPIs – Data Gap Analysis
Project description
The Sustainable CCUS value chain team in TOTAL had defined a set of 45 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess the performance of Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) projects. These KPIs were separated in four families of KPIs focusing on performance with regards to the CO2 emission reduction, the production of product X, the CCUS chain efficiency and for CO2 to Y subsystem, the conversion efficiency. These KPIs cover the technical, economic, environmental, financial and social aspects for CCUS.
Carbon Limits was involved in the assessing the feasibility of estimating these KPIs when applied to 18 currently running CCUS projects worldwide. The team listed the inputs required, reviewed the public literature and interviewed projects proponents, and summarized the collected information in a data gap matrix to conclude on the feasibility of assessing these KPIs for the projects reviewed.
