Framework Agreement to Provide Technical Assistance for the African Carbon Support Project

Project description

The African Development Bank (AfDB) launched the “African Carbon Support Programme” to assist the Bank’s clients to access carbon finance for their investments. Two Carbon Limits staff were seconded to the bank for a period of two years for the implementation of the Programme. The work included the screening and evaluation of more than 50 potential CDM projects in Africa, the preparation of a new methodology on cross boundary electricity transmission and the development of a tool for assessment of  vulnerability of investment project types to climate change. The team also led capacity building efforts within the AfDB in order to integrate the carbon finance process in the bank’s conventional project cycle.
