Project description

The goals of the project were to:

  • Clarify the roles of domestic and international carbon market instruments in facilitating the delivery of the country’s updated NDC
  • Support the key stakeholders in Georgia in the scoping of the Georgia Carbon Market concept and design
  • Take stock of feasible carbon market options for Georgia
  • To facilitate consensus among key stakeholders and decision-makers on one or more carbon market options

As to international instruments such as Article 6, an economic model was developed that models the impacts of carbon credit exports and related revenues on the economic growth of Georgia.
