Reporting and Regulation of Black Carbon and Methane in the Arctic

Project description

The project, supported by the Ministry of Environment in Norway, will review and conduct a comparative analysis of reporting of black carbon and methane emissions and relevant regulations and policies in jurisdictions of Arctic nations. New regulations under development or being considered will also be covered.

The purpose of the project is to provide information, which is relevant to the Task Force when considering the scope/content of a reporting system on progress on reductions of methane and black carbon emissions.

Further, results from the project should provide information relevant to the Task Force, when considering how to promote enhanced efforts by Arctic nations to reduce emissions.
