Project description
Carbon Limits was commissioned to prepare an updated and comprehensive overview of the organic waste streams that were processed in Norwegian facilities from 2017 to 2020, including both the reception of untreated waste and use of the products coming out of the treatment. To achieve the objectives of the assignment, Carbon Limits developed a Power BI Dashboard - a tool that can be used to interpret and visualize the collected data on the organic waste treatment in Norway, as well as conduct simplified mass balance analyses, and, extract and compare data per different waste types, treatment methods, disposal purposes, treatment facilities, etc.
Services provided are:
- Database treatment and development of a Power BI visualization tool
- Environmental benchmarking of different treatment technologies according to different categories (smell, nutrient leak, heavy metals, drug residues, microplastics, antimicrobial resistance, GHG) with support from NMBU.
- Economical assessment of different treatment methods.
- Analysis of historical trends in organic waste treatment
