Energy Access through Results-Based Finance within CDM framework: Assessing Business Models

Project description

In this project for the World Bank’s Carbon Initiative for Development (Ci-Dev), Carbon Limits assessed the key success factors for energy access programmes, and how different types of results-based financing tied to climate change mitigation could support these programmes. The study includes a review of energy access CDM programmes, as well as programmes outside the climate finance field, a review of the use of Emissions Reduction Purchase Agreements, and alternative pricing and business models incorporating non-climate benefits.
