Project description

The objective of this Project Phase is to carry out an evaluation of the potential impacts of APG flaring on the Arctic environment and on ways to achieve reductions in the release of SLCP (i.e. black carbon, methane and non-methane VOCs) from APG flaring.

Carbon Limits was responsible for a task of the project on co-relating methodologies used in Russia and other oil and gas producing countries to estimate emissions of SLCPs from APG flaring and utilization. The team also compiled a comparative analysis of typical emission factors of different pollutants used for these activities. Recommendations for decreasing the level of uncertainty of emissions estimates were made based on international best practices.
