Oil & Gas Sector Methane Emissions- Equipment and Practices Interview
Project description
Carbon Limits performed a pilot survey to map current practices influencing methane emissions globally covering companies in Russia, Middle East, South America and Africa.
Methane emissions from the oil and gas sector are heavily influenced by predominant practices and differences in equipment used by the facility operators, which can vary from company to company and from one geographic region to another. Carbon Limit's past work has demonstrated that a key element required for assessing methane emissions from the oil and gas sector is the understanding of the current operator practices. This type of information might not be readily available. Surveying the oil and gas facility operators to obtain information about the prevailing practices is one of the possible ways to bridge this information gap.
